Constructing this object took about 11 months from the time we found the first element, the little red motorbike. We found it in the mud at a farmers market near Waimea town on the Big Island of Hawaii. As such things go, there was nothing particularly notable or significant about this tiny toy except the fact that it had found us on a beautiful Hawaiian afternoon.

Despite its acute lack of intrinsic value, we kept it, even though we had no idea what to do with it.
